Winthrop Public Schools is committed to keeping our schools a caring and safe place for all students and to uphold bullying-prevention laws as defined by Mass. Law Chapter 92. A positive school climate provides an environment of mutual respect that allows students to learn and work to the best of their abilities and is one of the most significant factors in reducing bullying behaviors.
We are interested in:
(1) parent input regarding the school climate of the buildings where your children
attend school,
(2)staff input regarding the building(s) where you serve our children, and
(3) student input regarding their experiences in their respective schools.
Thus, we are asking all parents, teachers/auxiliary staff and students to complete school climate surveys that will help us better determine ways to strengthen components of an effective bullying prevention plan.
Students and school staff will complete their surveys in school by Friday, March 4,
2011.
